Melbourne Water invites you to a breakfast event, Thursday 15 December

Purpose: Learn about opportunities to receive funding and support from Melbourne Water to benefit our local communities.

Audience:  Local Government Councillors and Senior Managers involved in:
•     Planning
•     Environment/Sustainability
•     Parks and Open Space Management
•     Infrastructure and Engineering

Presentations:
•     Living Rivers Program Stormwater Program
$4million funding and support for Water Sensitive Urban Design and Integrated Water Management

•     Flood Management Planning
Councils and Melbourne Water working together to develop Flood Management Plans through funding assistance from Melbourne Water.

•     River Health Incentives Program
~$4million funding and support available to councils, community groups and private landholders for on ground waterway improvement works.

The Late John Knee

One of the original members of the Local Government Engineers Association of Victoria, John Knee, died on Friday at the age of 96.  John was City Engineer of Melbourne prior to retirement, regarded as the highest appointment for a LG Engineer at the time.  He was highly respected in the profession.  His funeral is on Friday 9th December at Tobin Bros in Mt Martha at 2pm.

The North-East Regional Group will meet on 8th December at 4:30pm followed by dinner.  The meeting will be held at Burkes Hotel, 96 Belmore Street, Yarrawonga.
