Would you like to use your skills and experience to volunteer in a developing country?

The Australian Volunteers for International Development Program places skilled Australian volunteers in developing countries. The Australian Volunteers Program is funded by the Australian Government international development agency, AusAID.

 There are currently two Road Works Project Trainer assignments being advertised with the Public Works Department in Vanuatu. To apply for these assignments please go to

IPWEAvic South-West Regional Group is planning a joint tour with EA  to attend a tour of the TRUenergy Iona Gas Plant near Port Campbell on Friday 1st June.  A bus will be provided for participants with pick-ups in Portland and Warrnambool.  Following the plant tour, the group will convene for dinner at the Timboon Railway Shed Distillery before the bus returns.

Numbers for this event are strictly limited due to do capacity requirements on the Iona site and also due to bus seating, therefore registrations will be accepted on a first in first served basis.  It is advised that you book early if you wish to come along as this is looking to be quite a popular event.

The State Government recently announced it was to spend $2M on assisting charities in clearing dupmed rubbish at thier outlets.  Read the media release here.

Last year IPWEAvic in conjunction with Moreland City Council held a dumped rubbish forum.  One of hte isses raised at hte forum was the problem of dumped rubbish at charity bins and charity shop outlets.

Join the IPWEAvic Board on Friday 15th June 12noon til 2pm for a Business Luncheon with Gary Liddle.   At this lunch, Gary is going to share some of his thoughts on the key challenges facing Local, State, Federal Government in managing our transport network.  He will also provide his view on what organisational leaders need to do to meet these challenges.  The luncheon is part of the IPWEAvic Leadership Series of events.
