Workshop outline

The workshop will involve a presentation on the findings from the work conducted to date on the Austroads Rural Road Geometry study, which focuses on the geometric components of rural roads that are over-represented in crashes.

The aims of the workshop are to:

–     Present information on the rural road crashes

–     Present some possible geometric related solutions

–     Identify any other rural road geometry issues that might have been missed as part of this review

–     To discuss which solutions might be most effective at reducing the incidences of crashes

–     To discuss gaps in knowledge relating to the geometric components of rural roads management

Who Should Attend

Workshop attendees would ideally be those involved in rural road design, or safety management, including state and local government representatives.  If you are a Senior
road designer and/or traffic  engineer, Manager or Team Leader you should consider attending!
