Expressions of Interest are called for an IPWEAvic member to be the ALGA representative on the Austroads Project Delivery Review Panel.

The delegate would need to attend 2 meetings per year with one meeting held in Melbourne and the other in Sydney.  Travel and accommodation costs to be borne by the employer of the delegate.  In addition there are a couple of teleconferences that would need to be attended and some reading and emailing traffic on any Austroads guide review or project proposals that may be developed or are in progress.  Further information relating to the role can be obtained from Bruce Douglas.

The National Conference of the Stormwater Industry of Australia will be held at Star City Hotel and Casino Sydney, 9th-12th November 2010.

The Conference Steering Committee of STORMWATER 2010 are now inviting all stormwater practitioners to submit an Abstract for Conference Papers, particularly those that highlight lessons learned and demonstrate the successful application of those lessons.  Abstracts that focus on the process involved in undertaking the project rather than the outcomes of the project will be highly regarded.  Full details are contained in the Call for Abstracts document found at the official conference website at www.gemsevents.com.au/stormwater2010 Creating a Storm: The Future of Stormwater in Australia is the conference title

Engineers Australia Practical Responses to Climate Change Conference is to be held 29 September – 1 October 2010 at Hilton on Park.

An invitiation to attend the conference and call for abstracts has been made by the conference chair.  Abstracts will be received until Friday 9th April 2010.  Read more details here

The Roadmarking Industry Association of Australia invites your input into the development of a highly beneficial and instructive programme for the Australasian Roadmarking & Signs Conference – Exhibition –Workshop which will be held at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland on August the 11th & 12th 2010.

Some 300 local & international delegates are expected at this event including Roadmarking & Signs Industry Contractors and Suppliers of related materials; State and Local Road Authority Personnel; Engineers and Researchers as well as Consultants and Contractors within the Traffic Engineering and Road Safety areas.

Submissions of Topics & Papers relating to how road safety can be enhanced by innovative or best practice use of pavement markings, signs, roadside delineators or barriers would especially be welcome, as would papers related to improvements in processes; materials; research and development; business practices; work safety; specifications; contracts; or indeed any other topics that you feel would be of benefit to delegates.

If you would are interested in presenting a paper you are invited to submit an abstract for consideration by the conference organising committee. Your abstract should detail the following: Title/Theme, Author/Presenter, an overview of the material to be covered along with any key outcomes or conclusions.
