Victorian councils have an online resource to assist them in implementing basic strategies in adaptation to the impacts of climate change.

The toolkit was prepared by Victorian Local Governance Association and addresses the social and equity impacts of climate change on their communities.  Also involved in the development of the toolkit were the Brotherhood of St Laurence, and the Department of Sustainability and Environment to develop the Liveable & Just Tool Kit.

The tool kit considers the following  issues:

  • Addressing social and equity impacts of climate change;
  • Reducing vulnerability
  • Engaging communities and
  • Building resilience: ideas for local government to strengthen community resilience to climate change.

The tool kit can be found here.
