Working with a Changing Climate-Infrastructure Sector Workshop

Purpose: A Climate Vulnerability Workshop – To inform the preparation of the Regional Climate Change Action Plan.
The workshop will present the existing regional climate risks and vulnerabilities and stepping through a climate scenario, explore and assess the relevant vulnerabilities for the infrastructure sector with Melbourne’s North.
Who should attend?: Representatives from external agencies involved in: Community transport, energy, water/drains, waste (assets), council buildings/facilities, open space, roads, ESD

DEPI are holding the 2014 Victorian Flood Forum on 13th and 14th November 2014 in Mildura.
The theme of the 2014 forum is Expanding Stakeholder Engagement, which recognises floodplain management and flood response requires cooperation from multiple agencies and the community.
Consultants, researchers, and all others with an interest in floods and floodplain management are invited to submit abstracts for presentations. Successful applicants will be asked to develop a PowerPoint presentation based on their Abstracts. No formal papers will be required, although presentations are requested to be provided in advance of the forum.
Presentations are encouraged in the following areas:
· Communicating flood risk
· Building better relationships between agencies and communities
· Levee management
· Cross-border issues
· Climate adaptation (future challenges and potential solutions)
· Lessons learnt from recent floods (planning, response, recovery)
· Insurance issues
· Case studies of innovative developments (technical, social)
