The 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission has now concluded its task, and ceased to operate.  The Commissioners presented their final report to the Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser AC on the morning of 31 July 2010. The report was then presented to the Premier and tabled in Parliament, making it available to the public.   You can view the report here.   Access the website here.

State Government Response:   The Royal Commission into the 2009 Victorian bushfires made 67 recommendations.   In its interim response to the Commission, the Victorian Government has supported 59 of those recommendations in principle.  Some of the recommendations are more complex and before announcing the full response, the Government wants to consult with the agencies, groups, communities and households who will be directly affected.  For more information go to:

Expressions of interest are sought for a person to represent IPWEAvic on the Engineers Australia Board od Engineering.  The representative does not need to be a member of Engineers Australia.   Being on the BOE is a great opportunity for someone to gain a better understanding of Engineers Australia and its various activities, an opportunity to access and develop good networks across the engineering sector and to also contribute to the engineering profession.

If you are interested please give Anne Gibbs a call to discuss on 03 90050860 or send an email to
