180 households will be able to take part in an electric car trail later in 2010 with each household driving an eletric vehice free of charge for three months. RAVC is a partner in the trial and Mitsubishi is the vehicle supplier. Cost of running the electric cars is thought to be less than running a petorl car if chargnig the electric car at home. Purchase of the electric car is about $68,000. Take a look at the car and possible public electric recharge points here

Infrastructure Australia released its report, Getting the fundamentals right for Australia’s infrastructure priorities in June 2010.
The report contains the updated National Priority List of infrastructure projects, totalling approximately $82,845 million in capital costs.

The National Priority List of projects Infrastructure Australia considers key to strengthening the economy, dealing with the challenges of sustainable population growth, export bottlenecks, urban congestion and climate change are assessed as having real merit or significant potential. The List is an aid in long term investment decisions of both the public and private sectors, including super funds.
Future updates to the National Priority List will be completed by 30 June each year.
